DESIGNATED CABLE MODULES FOR UNI FAN

Each UNI FAN features a cable module with a PIN-to-PIN contact point to receive power and signal. Each cable module can support up to 4 UNI FAN, allowing users to choose to use either a single fan or up to 4 fans in one go.

Note!
When using the UNI FAN SL120 in a custom water cooling configuration, make sure that the fittings on the radiators do not interfere with the contact point on the side of the fans. We suggest to use the insulating tape to isolate contact points.

The 32 addressable RGB LEDs embedded in each fan (16 LEDs on either side of the frame) ensure vibrant lighting effects.

Run L-Connect as administrator
We recommend updating the latest version and update the firmware of the controller to enhance your overall experience.

When L-Connect can’t control the fan speed and lighting effects, please download the fix.

Unplug the USB and SATA Cable of the UNI HUB
Close and exit MSI dragon center and L-connect software.
Download L-Connect Fix , and run UP_MousePad.bat
To check if it is downloaded correctly, please direct to your download file see details and check if the file version is 1.0.3.0
Plug back the USB and SATA cables and reboot the system.

Note : Please do not download any software regarding L-Connect update apart from LIAN LI website. This might occur UNI HUB(Controller) disfunction.

If the motherboard used in your build doesn’t have the requisite 3-PIN 5V ARGB headers, you can leave this port unplugged.

But then you won’t be able to switch to motherboard synchronisation with the toggle shown on the L-Connect.

NOTE

Purchase a three-pack SL120 or a two-pack SL140(including a controller) as the starter kit for fully experienced UNI FANs with L-Connect. To control all 16 UNI FANs (4 fans each cluster) in one go, a controller is needed, no matter control with L-Connect software or sync to the motherboard. Please note that the single-pack version does not contain this controller.
Please enter your motherboard BIOS and set the correspondent fan header at PWM mode. (Update your motherboard BIOS if necessary)
Do not connect more than 10 UNI FANs (device up to 21W) to the controller (UNI HUB) when performing white static color. To connect more devices, please update to L-Connect 2 (reference to update guide) and use 2 or more controllers.
Listed radiators are known not compatible with UNI FAN.

4. Radiators that doesn’t follow bellow rule:
  Rule 1// The tubes of the radiator must avoid the tenon of the UNI FAN and be at the safe area, which is in grey in the image.

Rule 2// The screw holes between the two fans must be 15mm width on the radiator for either 120mm or 140mm UNI FAN.

UNI FAN SL120 FAQs

1. My UNI FAN isn’t working.

Check your “Computer Management” → “Device Manager”
If your MB detected UNI FAN, it would show “LIAN LI” under “Universal Serial Bus Device”
If there are error under “Universal Serial Bus Controllers”, please contact your MB company for help.
Check if all 3 cables of the controller are correctly connected to the MB. Switch another USB2.0 header if necessary.

2. I can’t control my UNI FAN with L-connect

If you can see “LIAN LI” at the device manger, re-install your L-Connect as an Administrator.

3. UNIFAN went back default mode after restart

The settings are written in L-Connect software, you have to run L-Connect to get your settings.
Please set L-Connect running as the computer starts. Following steps:
1. Click “Windows” + “R”
2. Enter : “shell:startup”
3. Click “OK”
4. Copy your “L-Connect” to “Startup” file
5. Restart your PC

4. Which fan header shall I connect to?

Recommend you connect the controller’s PWM cable to the system/chassis fan header (not the CPU nor pump fan header).
You could wire the fan’s PWM cable to the CPU header directly if you use UNI FANs for your AIO.

5. UNI FAN does not sync to the PWM signal

Please enter your MB BIOS to check if your fan header is at PWM mode (not DC mode nor Auto mode).

6. It may cause L-Connect can’t control fan speed and lighting effects, while using MSI motherboard with MSI dragon center software.

Please follow bellow steps to solve the problem.
1. Remove L-Connect software and reboot
2. Close MSI dragon center software and install this Fix Software and reboot
3. Re-install L-Connect

7. When updating motherboard software, it might cause L-Connect suddenly can’t control the fan speed and lighting effects.

Please make sure that your pc have detected [LIAN LI] from Device Manager
Go to [ C:\Program Files\ENE\Aac_ENE_MousePad_HAL ]
Right click [ AacHal_x64.dll ], go to [ Properties ] and check MousePad Version
MousePad version shall be [ 1.0.3.0 ], if not please exit all the RGB controlling software in your system, including L-Connect, and download L-CONNECT FIX
Run [ UP_MousePad.bat ]
Check the File version again, shall be [ 1.0.3.0 ] to clear the interference. If not, please run [ UP_MousePad.bat ] again.
After updating the software, please reboot your pc.
