HydroShift II LCD-S – USB Connection / Advanced Mode Issue

Follow-Up Notice

After further investigation, with the help of our community, we have identified the most likely cause of this issue.

In some cases, motherboard backplate bending can cause the CPU to sit slightly lower than intended. This, in turn, may cause the pump cap and attached LCD screen to sit lower, while the mounting bracket itself remains level. As a result, the inner housing of the LCD cap may experience interference, preventing the LCD’s pogo pins from making proper contact.

When this occurs, the LCD may fail to power on and the USB connection may not be detected correctly.

Please note that this does not affect all users and is dependent on individual motherboard conditions, particularly whether backplate bending is present.

To address this issue, we have updated the design by adding a small cutout to the inner housing of the LCD cap, eliminating potential interference and ensuring consistent pogo-pin contact.

Who Is Affected

You may be affected if:

    • The LCD fails to power on and remains black
    • Device manager does not pick up the LCD as a USB device
