1. LCD Fan Displays LIAN LI Logo and Cannot Be Controlled
  1. Check how many LCD fans are installed and compare that number with what appears in L-Connect 3.
  2. Open Device Manager and expand the USB section to confirm detection.
  3. If Device Manager recognizes the fans but L-Connect 3 does not:
    1. Ensure the affected fan group’s 4-pin PWM connector is connected to the included SATA adapter, EG-HUB01, or
    2. EDGE Gold hub.
Reinstall the latest version of L-Connect 3.
  4. If the problem involves an unknown device, further hardware checks are required.
2. LCD Fan Shows Logo During Boot but Turns Black Afterwards
    1. Verify the total number of LCD fans installed.
    2. Check Device Manager → USB to confirm the correct number is detected.
    3. If the detected count is incorrect:
      1. Replace the receiver module (the plastic clip at the end of the fan group) with a spare if available.
      2. Alternatively, swap the receiver with one from a functioning fan group.
    4. If detection is restored after these steps, contact support and report the results.
3. LCD Fan Stays Black During Boot and Cannot Be Controlled
  1. Confirm the number of LCD fans detected under Device Manager → USB.
  2. The issue may be caused by either a faulty receiver module or fan.
  3. To test the receiver module:
      1. Attach it to a working LCD fan.
      2. If the working fan stops functioning, replace the receiver module.

  4. To test the fan:

    1. Connect it using a known working receiver module.
    2. If the fan still fails, it should be replaced.
4. Using NON-LIANLI USB HUB, AND LCD Screen(s) will sometimes Missing or Unresponsive, But Device Manager Detects Device
  1. If user isn’t using LIAN LI’s hub, check whether the 3rd-party hub supports external power. TL/SL LCD needs USB power so unpowered hubs will cause instability.
  2. If the hub is powered, but the user still has the issue with one of the groups. Plug that group’s usb directly to MB to verify.
  3. If the group works normally when connected directly to MB, the 3rd party hub connected devices number needs to be decreased. Limit total connected USB devices per USB 2.0 port to 6. For example, if you have 2 sets of 3 LCD fans, connect one set to port 1 (direct to motherboard) and the other set to port 2 via hub.
  4. If you have two fans in one group and three in another, and also USB from AIO, we recommend (this ensures balanced load across hub controller ports):
    2 fans → Port 1
AIO or single USB → Port 2
    3 fans → Port 3
  5.  We recommend using LIAN LI EDGE Hub (EG-01) or EDGE GOLD / EDGE Platinum PSUs.
If total USB devices exceed 9, keep motherboard USB 2.0 port count under 9. Move devices to rear I/O USB-A instead.
  6. Connect wireless dongles to USB-A to avoid motherboard 2.0 port congestion. SL/TL LCDs should connect directly to motherboard USB 2.0 if possible.
5. TL/SL Wireless LCD Fans does not auto apply Screen Memory or Require Clicking Restart LCD After Boot
  1. Check if power is supplied from the included SATA-PWM splitter or PWM 12V Hub (such as Edge Hub or Edge Gold’s Hub).
  2. Check if updating to L-Connect 3’s latest version improves behavior.
  3. Turn off fast Startup, by going to control panel-power option-choose what the power button do-change settings-disable fast startup-save setting
  4. If not, likely too many USB devices are connected to one hub. Spread USB devices across multiple USB 2.0 or rear USB-A ports.
  5. Each USB 2.0 9-pin header on motherboard should not exceed 9 USB devices total (including hubs + direct connections).
LIAN LI USB Hub = max 6 devices
Other powered hubs = max 4 devices
  6. EDGE Hub’s first port (Port 1) is direct pass through from the motherboard → best for SL/TL Wireless LCD or L-Wireless Controller (not recommended for AIO).
  7. Port 2 is the first branch off the hub’s internal controller → avoid using it for 3x fan setups; instead, place 3x fans on Port 3 or 4.
6. TL/SL Wireless LCD Fans Lose Settings After Sleep/Wake
  1. Check if updating to L-Connect 3’s latest version improves behavior.
  2. If the issue persists, likely too many USB devices are connected to one hub. Spread USB devices across multiple USB 2.0 or rear USB-A ports.
    A.  Each USB 2.0 9-pin header on motherboard should not exceed 9 USB devices total (including hubs + direct connections).
        i. LIAN LI USB Hub = max 6 devices
ii. Other powered hubs = max 4 devices
    B. EDGE Hub’s first port (Port 1) is direct pass through from the motherboard → best for SL/TL Wireless LCD or L-Wireless Controller (not recommended for AIO).

    C. Port 2 is the first branch off the hub’s internal controller → avoid using it for 3x fan setups; instead, place 3x fans on Port 3 or 4.
