1. AIO 4-PIN PWM cable to the CPU_FAN header but L-Connect 3 still cannot detect the pump RPM or showing 0 RPM on the LCD screen but the pump is actually functioning,
- Connect the 4-PIN cable to SATA power, Leave the 2-PIN cable disconnected.
- Please use the tool from HydroShift II LCD-C to update its “receiver” firmware
- Download the file and extract it from the zip file.
- Unbind HydroShift II from the L-Wireless Sync page.
- Close L-Connect 3’s service by right clicking the software icon on the bottom right corner.
- Run “H2Test”.
- Click “Upgrade”.
- Alternatively, you can select “Local Update” in L-Connect 3
- Unbind HydroShift II from the L-Wireless Sync page.
- Go to settings and select HydroShift II’s receiver “Local Update”.
- When the preparation prompt pops up, double check everything has been done and click ok.
- And select the file from HydroShift II LCD-C.
2. What should I do if I connect the AIO 4-PIN PWM cable to the CPU_FAN header and notice that the pump RPM occasionally spikes on its own?
- Connect the 4-PIN cable to SATA power.
- Leave the 2-PIN cable disconnected.
- Unbind the HydroShift II.
- Go to settings and select HydroShift II’s receiver “Local Update”.
- When the preparation prompt pops up, double check everything has been done and click ok.
- And select the file from HydroShift II LCD-C.
3. HydroShift II LCD-C Not Detected via USB in L-Connect 3
- Make sure the L-Connect 3 version is on the latest version.
- First, check if Device Manager detects HydroShift II. If detected, uninstall HS II from Device Manager, shutdown, and perform cold boot (complete power cycle)
- If not detected at all, go into BIOS and change the connected PWM headers to DC mode/voltage mode and set it to Full Speed. This ensures enough voltage is supplied for USB initialization.
- If issue persist, Connect the 4-PIN cable to SATA power. Leave the 2-PIN cable disconnected.
- Unbind the HydroShift II.
- Go to settings and select HydroShift II’s receiver “Local Update”.
- When the preparation prompt pops up, double check everything has been done and click ok.
- And select the file from HydroShift II LCD-C.
4. HydroShift II LCD-C: Wireless Mode Issues – No Display, Long Bind Time, Screen Content Disappears in Wireless Mode
These problem are caused by weak wireless signal.
Recommend to plug the L-Wireless Controller directly into the motherboard’s rear I/O USB Type-A port.
5. HydroShift II LCD-C – Motherboard Doesn’t Read Pump RPM
- Certain motherboards (e.g., X870 Carbon WiFi) use PWM resistor logic that conflicts with HydroShift II LCD-C, resulting in missing RPM data.
- Connect the 4-pin to SYS_FAN (for RPM signal), and the 2-pin to CPU_FAN (to ensure adequate power).
6. HydroShift II LCD-C Is Making Noise
- High-frequency buzzing sound
- This is caused by the tube straightener bracket vibrating against the case. Simply remove it to solve the issue.
- Rattling noise
- This may be caused by internal impeller making contact, please contact us via “form”
- Bubble noise
- Simply wiggle the tubes to get rid of air bubble build up within the AIO.
7. The UNI FAN CL on HydroShift II LCD-C 360CL cannot be detected in L-Connect 3
- Make sure every cable is firmly seated in the PCB on the radiator.
- If the fans are still not detected after confirming all connections, please contact us via “form” to replace the fans.
8. HydroShift II LCD-C Pump/Fan Irregularities
- Symptoms may include unstable pump speed, 0 RPM fan readings, uneven fan speeds, or stopped fans.
- Update the AIO receiver firmware via Local Update:
A. Download the firmware file.
B. Open L-Connect 3 → Settings → Firmware → Local Update and complete the installation. - This update is required for HydroShift II LCD-C CL model only.
USB Connection Issues
Section 10. I can't detect HydroShift II in L-Connect 3 or Device Manager.
When installing the system for the first time, ensure Windows Update, CPU chipset drivers, and motherboard drivers are all up to date. These are required for Device Manager to properly detect connected devices.
Section 11. HydroShift II appears in Device Manager, but not in L-Connect 3, or it says "USB not detected."
- In Device Manager, right-click on HydroShift II and uninstall the device.
- Click Scan for hardware changes to re-detect it.
- Open L-Connect 3 → Settings → General → click Restart Services & Software.
Power Related Issues
Section 12. The RGB cap is blinking and the UNI FAN CL Wireless on the radiator spins irregularly.
Wireless Binding Related
Section 13. My wireless controller is plugged in, but binding fails and HydroShift II doesn’t appear in the L-Wireless Utility.
HydroShift II has a shorter wireless range. Try moving the dongle to a rear USB-A port on the motherboard, then open L-Connect 3 → Settings → General → click Restart Services & Software.
Motherboard RPM Sync
Section 14. Can I control pump or fan speed through BIOS or motherboard software?
LCD Memory Issues
Section 15. After waking from sleep, the LCD screen doesn’t remember my settings.
If HydroShift II is connected through a USB hub to the motherboard’s 9-pin USB 2.0 header, ensure the hub handles no more than six connected devices/screens. For best results, connect directly to the motherboard’s 9-pin USB 2.0 port.
